 BLACKSMITHING COURSES

LOCATION :

The Forge,Old Cheese House,Lower Denhay,Broadoak,Dorset, DT6 5NW

ARRIVAL TIMES:

The classes start at 9 am sharp with a safety talk, please arrive in good time so that we can get to forging as quickly as possible. There is plenty of parking space available at the front on the forge.

COURSE TIMES:

Day 1 : 9am-6 pm.

Day 2 : 10am-4pm (weekend courses only).

These are approximate times and the day can sometimes run longer as we like to make sure everyone has finished their pieces before heading home.

 WHAT TO WEAR:

Good work cloths (you will get dirty) and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Steel toecaps not essential.

FOOD:

Teas, coffees etc provided as well as a delicious ploughman's lunch. If you have any allergies or food requirements please let us know in advance and bring substitutes (eg, dairy free milk, gluten free bread, etc). 

EQUIPMENT:

All materials and safety gear (gloves, goggles, ear protection) provided but bring your own if you have a preference. All tools are also provided but if you have a favourite hammer bring it along too.

ACCOMMODATION :

There is a camp site 5 mins walk from the forge – COPPET HILL CAMPING (www.coppethill.co.uk) with beautiful views, eco showers and camp kitchens.

There are also plenty of local B and B’s in and around Bridport, Symondsbury and the local village of Broadoak.
