This course is a combination of blacksmithing workshop , fire school and BBQ ...

FORGE : You will start by learning the basic range of traditional blacksmithing skills, as well as how to forge stainless steel BBQ tools such as skewers, fire rakes and BBQ forks. A canvas tool roll will be available to purchase at the end of the day.

FIRE : The afternoon will be spent chopping wood, marinading ingredients and cooking up a feast over the fire. We have a fully equipped fire kitchen at The Forge and what better after a day of hammering at the anvil than to be able to put your work to use - so using all the tools you have made we will cook together, drink together and eat together.

There are a wide variety of skills explored during this introductory course that include forging, forming and riveting - No previous experience required.

The goal of this course is that each participant will take home their own hand made BBQ tools and to have learnt new fire and cookery skills.

TIMES - Workshop 9am - 4pm. EVENING SESSION - 5pm onwards

MEALS - A simple lunch will be provided, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day. All ingredients for the afternoon cooking session will also be included.

CAMPING AND ACCOMMODATION - There is camping at COPPET HILL CAMPING (walking distance from the forge) or else plenty of local accommodation available.
